Autumn Calendar – LIFE medCLIFFS Volunteering

The summer season is almost over and we are keen to start again with the activities of the LIFE medCLIFFS Volunteering Network. So, the autumn calendar is ready, don’t miss it!

Field visits

On mid-September we are starting again with the field visits that complement the online course on identification and monitoring of potentially invasive plants, organised through Flora Catalana.

These field visits usually focus on resolving doubts and consolidating the knowledge necessary for the correct monitoring of invasive species in the network’s transects. During this autumn, three of the field visits will focus on learning about the habitat of coastal cliffs and their native species, or on more specific topics such as the impact of invasive species on cryptogamic species. The dates will be as follows:

Saturday 16 September 2023

Saturday 30 September 2023

Saturday 4 November 2023

Saturday 25 November 2023

One Saturday in December (date to be confirmed)

1st Annual Meeting of LIFE medCLIFFS Volunteers

Apart from the field visits, this year will take place the 1st ANNUAL MEETING OF LIFE medCLIFFS VOLUNTEERS. The aim of the meeting is to share and exchange knowledge with all the people involved in the LIFE medCLIFFS Volunteering Network.

It will take place on Saturday 21 October 2023 at the Botanical Institute of Barcelona and will include several interventions from both the technical staff of LIFE medCLIFFS and some of the volunteers who very kindly want to share their knowledge. At the end of the day, there will be a guided visit to the BC Herbarium and the Botanical Garden of Barcelona.

To facilitate participation, there will be free transport to and from two different points on the Costa Brava.
