Through the adaptation of an automatic system for the assessment of the invasion risk and prediction of the spread of a selection of invasive alien plant species (IAPS) or potentially invasive plants, invasion risk maps are created for those IAPS growing in Cap de Creus and the Costa Brava.
Once developed and validated, the risk maps will be integrated as a management tool at the level of Catalonia, in order to prioritise the surveillance and/or eradication in those areas where the risk of invasion compromises the conservation of the natural environment.
This tool is developed within the framework of Action C1 of LIFE medCLIFFS, led by the CSIC-IBB and with the participation of the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Generalitat de Catalunya (DACC) and the Diputació de Girona.
If you are interested to know more about the tool, please send an e-mail to info.lifemedcliffs@csic.es
