LIFE medCLIFFS has a Volunteer Network for the monitoring and surveillance of invasive alien flora affecting Mediterranean sea cliffs. Volunteers collect ecological and biological data on invasive and potentially invasive plants, which are used to model and predict the risk of invasion in priority areas, being essential to define the best strategy for action against each invasive alien plant.
We invite you to take part in a guided botanical route along two under study transects in Calella de Palafrugell. Led by botanical experts, you will be able to observe and learn to recognise alien plant species, many of which have escaped from gardens. Some of them are invasive and have or may have an impact on both biodiversity and the conservation of the cliffs of the Costa Brava with endemic flora.
You will also be informed about how you can become part of the LIFE medCLIFFS Volunteer Network, so, if you want, you can register and contribute to the conservation of the Mediterranean sea cliffs.
Let’s meet together in Calella de Palafrugell on 19th November!
It is neccesary to fill the inscription form before November 18th at 14:00, this activity is free of charge.
