Between 20 April and 20 May 2024, come to the Botanical Garden of Barcelona and visit the LIFE medCLIFFS exhibition to learn about the impact of invasive plants on coastal habitats such as the cliffs of the Costa Brava and Cap de Creus. The exhibition presents the objectives of the LIFE medCLIFFS project and how you can participate and contribute to the conservation of coastal cliffs. Field Trip of the LIFE medCLIFFS Volunteering Network

During 2024 LIFE medCLIFFS is organising again several field trips, free and exclusively addressed to registered LIFE medCLIFFS volunteers. The third one of this year will be on Saturday, 11th April 2024, and will focus on learning about the alien and invasive flora growing in the coastal habitats of Sant Feliu de Guíxols. Within the frame of the following "Temps de Flors" in Girona, Sònia Garcia, tenured scientist of the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (IBB-CSIC) and LIFE medCLIFFS project manager, will lecture about "Pretty but complicated: environmental challenges of ornamental plants with invasive behavior". Summer is over and we are back with the 2024 LIFE medCLIFFS field trips! We happily remind you that these field trips are free and exclusively addressed to the registered LIFE medCLIFFS Volunteers. The fifth field trip of this year will be on Saturday, 28th September, and we will focus on the allochthonous and invasive flora growing in Begur, particularly along the coast of Sa Riera. The first field trip for volunteers of 2025 (Roses)

The first field trip of 2025 is here! This time, we will walk and follow a more ethnobotanical route at Cala Murtra, Roses. During the course, we will observe the autochthonous flora of the Myrtle Thicket (habitat 32.218). This is another typical Mediterranean habitat, close to HIC 1240, where we will also keep an eye on the allochthonous and invasive plants that affect and threaten the local flora.
