The first field trip for volunteers of 2025 (Roses)

15 Marchat11:00 - 13:30

The first field trip of 2025 is here! This time, we will walk and follow a more ethnobotanical route at Cala Murtra, Roses. During the course, we will observe the autochthonous flora of the Myrtle Thicket (habitat 32.218). This is another typical Mediterranean habitat, close to HIC 1240, where we will also keep an eye on the allochthonous and invasive plants that affect and threaten the local flora. There will also be time to explain and provide more information about the LIFE medCLIFFS project, and check how to make observations. This is also a good time to ask and solve any questions, especially for new volunteers.

As a reminder, now the trips will not only focus on the aimed allochthonous species to observe in the project, but we want you to learn and recognize the coastal autochthonous flora. During this trip, we will observe the typical plant community of the area and at the same time help you detect and identify those plants that do not belong to it, and highlight the invasive species. We strongly encourage you to keep coming to the project trips and rediscover our environment.

Like in previous trips, the Flora Catalana form must be completed.
The meeting point will be the parking lot before the Mirador de la Falconella (The immediate parking lot after turning to Gauguin Street from Montjoi Road). From there, we will reorganize the group to get to the starting point.
The duration will be 1.5 hours, starting at 11h (meeting point) and ending at 13:30h (final destination).
